Monarchs' offense sputters in setback to Olentangy September 28, 2009 at 6:34 am

The Monarchs fell, 21-7. –––– Coming off a Division I playoff appearance and returning several playmakers, followers of the Marysville High School football team had a lot to be excited about in the 2009 season. After Friday night’s fourth straight loss, those same supporters might be left scratching their heads. Coach Jeff Gafford is scratching right along with them. “I don’t know why the pieces haven’t come together this year,” Gafford said. “We haven’t come close to hitting on all cylinders.” Particularly troubling Friday night was the fact that Olentangy came in with a 1-3 record and utterly shut down Marysville’s offense, particularly the rushing attack. The 21-7 loss dropped Marysville to 1-4.
