Lima Perry's special teams miscues help lead to big Fairbanks Panther victory

Any football coach will tell you that the kicking game is vital to a team’s success.
Field position is determined by good kick returns in preparing an offense and good coverage when the other guy has the ball.
That part of the game is so important that it’s referred to as “special teams.”
There wasn’t anything special about Lima Perry’s kicking game Friday night during a 48-13 loss to Fairbanks.
As a matter of fact, the Commodores’ efforts in that category were downright awful.
Mistakes in the kicking game led to a handful of FHS touchdowns and made what could possibly have been a competitive game into a blowout.
The first miscue came after the Panthers punted on their first series.
The Commodores fumbled the ball on the punt return and Fairbanks (3-2) recovered at the Perry 31.
