There were positive vibes all over the Marysville High School soccer field from beginning to end on Wednesday night. Getting strong contributions from a core of rising underclassmen and the seniors in their final home game, the Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over Teays Valley in the opening round of the Division I sectional tournament. MHS coach Marc Kirsch was pleased with the win and the way it was accomplished. “We really played well,” he said. “I think it was one of our best overall games all season. Teays Valley is a good team and they gave us a good test.” It was a big night for senior Jeremy Watson, who scored two goals for the winners. Watson’s first goal came with 5:46 left in the first half on a pass from Aaron Gonzalez. Prior to that, the two teams had battled on fairly even terms, although Marysville possessed the ball a few more minutes than the Vikings, whose season ended at 7-9.
