A local high school basketball team is jumping front and center to help fight a dreaded disease.
Although the start of the season for high school boys hoopsters is still more than a week away, the Jonathan Alder Pioneers will take to the court on Friday to help in the fight against cancer.
Alder will host Dublin Jerome for varsity, junior varsity and freshman scrimmages, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The frosh will take to the floor first, followed by the JV and varsity squads.
Although scrimmages are free of charge and are informal events, these will be different.
“We’re going to be using this night as our ‘foundation game,’ which is allotted by the Ohio High School Athletic Association,” said JA coach Steve DeDent.
