Panther cagers fall to Bishop Ready

After opening the 2009-2010 season with victories over Triad and Benjamin Logan, Fairbanks boys basketball coach Larry Morris knew his team would be embarking on perhaps its roughest stretch of the season, starting Saturday evening when it hosted Columbus Bishop Ready.
If a 67-47 loss to the Silver Knights - who are being guided by former North Union coach Don Worstell - is any indication, Morris knows what he’s talking about.
There were a couple of factors plainly evident in the evening’s outcome.
One, the Panthers (2-1) had no answer for Ready’s Joe Graessle, who knocked down six three-pointers enroute to a game-high 36 points, and two, they didn’t do a good job of attacking the Knights’ zone defense.
