A cellphone was recovered at Eljer Park Thursday at 12:14 p.m.
Assistance was provided to the Muskingum County Sherriff’s Office in arresting a subject at a hotel on Square drive Thursday at 12:56 p.m. The subject was under indictment through the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas.
An employee at a business on West Fifth Street reported Thursday at 1:45 p.m. that a known subject attempted to open an account using a fraudulent check.
An employee of the Marysville Public Library reported a theft of DVDs by a male subject Thursday at 2:11 p.m.
Stephen Allen Shook, 55, of 2898 Longwood Pl., was charged with disorderly conduct Thursday at 6:54 p.m. following an incident near Columbus Avenue.
On Thursday at 7:08 p.m., a juvenile was cited for reckless operation, and a juvenile passenger was cited for not wearing a seatbelt following an incident on Parkway Drive near the Marysville Municipal Pool.
Jodi Marie Thompson, 57, of 426 West Seventh St., was charged with driving under suspension Thursday at 9:52 p.m. following a traffic crash on West Fifth Street.
A resident on Timber Lane was taken to Memorial hospital for evaluation Friday at 1:47 a.m. after threatening self-harm.
According to Union County Sherriff’s Office reports:
Deputies and units from Marysville Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department, Allen Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Union Township Fire Department, and assistance from Delaware County Fire Departments responded to a residence in the 11000-block of U.S. Route 36 to investigate a report of an active structure fire with flames showing in the residence Thursday at 3:57 a.m. According to Marysville Fire Chief Jay Riley, the fire was “fairly significant,” though there were no injuries. The fire is still under investigation. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to contain the blaze.
Deputies and units from the Pleasant Valley Fire Department and Jerome Township Fire Department responded to the intersection of State Route 161 at Middleburg Plain City Road Thursday at 9:03 a.m. to investigate an injury crash involving a 2013 Dodge Ram 5500 truck that was struck after running a stop sign by a 2007 Mercury Milan. One driver was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital, who was unable to respond by press time. The driver of the Dodge truck, Evan W. Dietz, 21, of Botkins, was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield at a stop sign.
While on the scene of the crash, a 2014 Chevrolet Impala struck a tow truck that was assisting the first crash. That is the only information on the second collision that was available at press time.
A deputy was sent to a residence in the 27000-block of Snediker Road Thursday at 12:56 p.m. to investigate a report of a burglary.
A deputy and units from Allen Township Fire Department responded to a gas station on Honda Parkway near State Route 739 Thursday at 4:16 p.m. to investigate a report of a 2004 Mini Cooper on fire and fully involved.
Deputies and units from Jerome Township Fire Department and Pleasant Valley Fire Department responded to State Route 38, north of State Route 161, Thursday at 9:47 p.m. to investigate a minor injury crash involving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2015 Jeep Renegade.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol reports:
There are no injury crash or arrested reports for today.
