According to Marysville Fire Department reports:
Marysville fire and EMS responded Friday evening to a house fire on West Third Street that killed two dogs and sent two residents to Memorial Hospital.
According to Marysville Fire Chief Jay Riley, crews responded to “heavy smoke and flames” coming from the house Friday at 6:25 p.m. Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation at Memorial Hospital while two dogs perished during the blaze.
Smoke inhalation was the cause of death.
According to Riley, there was extensive damage throughout the living room, though he said the damage is “repairable.” The fire was contained within about 20 minutes.
Riley said the fire department is attributing the fire to an unattended candle.

Joshua Cunningham, 21, of Marion, Dustin Davis, 20, of Springfield and Jessica Davis, 22, also of Springfield, were cited for disorderly conduct Friday at 7:05 a.m.
A resident of Quail Hollow Drive North reported a burglary Friday at 6:46 p.m.
A resident of Watkins Glen Circle reported fraudulent activity Friday at 5:32 p.m.
Kristen Fulkerson, 28, of Bellefontaine, was arrested for theft of merchandise from a business on Colemans Crossing Boulevard Friday at 8:23 p.m.
Marysville High School reported a possible assault Friday at 10:17 p.m.
A juvenile of North Cherry Street was cited for curfew violation Saturday at 1:11 a.m.
Marysville Division of Police recovered multiple electronic devices and a firearm from a business on West Fifth Street Saturday at 4:55 a.m.
Marysville Division of Police recovered a purse from the area of West Sixths Street and Grove Street Saturday at 11:50 .m.
A business on Colemans Crossing reported theft of merchandise Saturday at 1:23 p.m.
A business on Delaware Avenue reported suspicious circumstances Saturday at 6:32 p.m.
Tyrone Middleton, 42, of U.S. 42, was cited for open container in a motor vehicle Saturday at 9:11 p.m.
Justin Byrd, 29, of Cable, was cited for driving under suspension, no operator’s license and failure to control Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
Four juveniles of Meadows Drive were cited for curfew violation Sunday at 1:58 a.m.
A resident of Greenwood Boulevard reported a dispute Sunday at 2:27 a.m.
A resident of Belmont Drive reported a dispute Sunday at 1:53 p.m.
Marysville Police assisted the Fairfield Sheriff’s Office in locating a resident who threatened self-harm Sunday at 2:52 p.m.
A resident of Route 31 reported vandalism of a motor vehicle Sunday at 5:58 p.m.
Marysville Division of Police recovered drug paraphernalia from Hickory Gate Drive Sunday at 6:53 p.m.
A resident of Elwood Drive reported a theft Sunday at 9:27 p.m.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:
A deputy was sent to a residence in the 21000 block of Raymond Road Friday at 2:16 a.m. to investigate a burglary. Items stolen include several guns multiple hunting bows, cash, two laptop computers, video games, a chainsaw, and a pump sprayer. A report was taken.
A deputy responded to the 24000 block of Route 4 Friday at 7:49 a.m. to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2012 Honda Pilot that drove off the left side of the road, into a ditch, and struck a concrete drain pipe.
A deputy responded to Scottslawn Road, west of Weaver Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2008 Lexus GS350 that struck a deer Friday at 8:10 a.m.
A deputy responded to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Harriott Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 1997 Peterbilt Semi that struck the back of a 2012 Honda Civic Friday at 10:04 a.m. The driver of the Peterbilt, Emanuel F. Beiler, 37 of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
A deputy met with a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol to take custody Richard A. Frazier, 47, of West Mansfield, for an outstanding arrest warrant Friday at 10:56 a.m. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy investigated unwanted text messages that were being received at a residence in the 11000 block of US Route 36 Friday at 12:49 p.m.
A deputy was sent to a residence in the 18000 block of State Route 161 Friday at 5:33 p.m. to investigate a trespassing complaint.
A deputy arrested Thomas D. Erdy, 47, of East Liberty, for an outstanding warrant after he turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office Friday at 7:15 p.m. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Deputies and units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jerome Township Fire Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Norwich Township Fire Department, Concord Township Fire Department, and Pleasant Valley Fire District responded to U.S. 33 near Post Road for an injury crash involving multiple vehicles Friday at 8:22 p.m. The State Patrol investigated the crash.
Deputies were sent to the 7200 block of Industrial Parkway to investigate a domestic dispute between a husband and wife Saturday at 3:14 a.m.
Deputies went to the Multi County Jail in Marion Saturday at 5:06 a.m. to take custody of Amanda J. Johnson, 28 of Marion, for an outstanding arrest warrant. She was taken to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy was sent to a residence in the 20000 block of Coleman Brake Road for an unruly juvenile Saturday at 10:23 a.m.
A deputy was sent to a home in the 31000 block of West Mansfield Mt. Victory Road for a custody dispute involving several family members Saturday at 2:14 p.m.
A deputy was sent to a home in the 7400 block of Hyland Croy Road Saturday at 3:33 p.m. to investigate a toddler that was left in a vehicle. A report was taken.
A deputy investigated a road rage incident that occurred in the 14000 block of State Road Saturday at 4:07 p.m.
Deputies were sent to a residence in the 11000 block of U.S. 36 for a person making threats of self-harm Saturday at 4:08 p.m.
A deputy met with a Hilliard Police Officer to take custody of Michelle A. Shaw, 26, of Columbus, for an outstanding arrest warrant Saturday at 5:27 p.m. She was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Deputies and units from the Marysville Fire Department responded to the 11000 block of Route 736 Saturday at 5:27 p.m. for an injury crash involving a 2012 Acura TSX that struck a 2005 Honda Accord. One person was transported to Memorial Hospital.
A deputy was sent to a residence in the 9900 block of U.S. 42 to investigate the theft of political signs from a yard Saturday at 10:44 p.m.
A deputy responded to the 8700 block of State Route 38 Sunday at 12:15 p.m. to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2000 Toyota Camry that drove off the road and into a ditch.
A deputy and units from the Jerome Township Fire Department responded to a property in the 8100 block of Brown Road Sunday at 1:17 p.m. for an injury crash involving an all-terrain vehicle that lost control and struck a tree. One victim was transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital.
Deputies were sent to a home in the 8400 block of Ryan Parkway Sunday at 6:50 p.m. for a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. The parties were separated.
Deputies were sent to a residence in the 21000 block of Route 47 Sunday at 7:36 p.m. for an unruly juvenile who left the home without permission. The female was located and transported to the Central Ohio Youth Center.
A deputy investigated damage to a vehicle that occurred at a residence in the 8900 block of Route 736 Sunday at 7:45 p.m. No report was taken.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol reports:
There are no additional injury crash or arrest reports taken over the weeekend.
