Editor’s note: This is the 39th of a series about growing up in Marysville during the late 1930s and the 1940s written by Bill Boyd. Each article is a snapshot of the people, businesses and activities during that era as seen through the eyes of a young boy.
Boyd was born in Marysville in 1932, graduated from Marysville High School in 1950, and lived the greater part of his life here.
Marysville’s mister music
There was a teacher in the Marysville school system during the late 1930s and 1940s by the name of Don Euverard. He taught music throughout the school system – in the elementary grades, junior high and high school. He directed the choruses and glee clubs. He directed the orchestras and the high school marching band. In short, he did it all. If it had anything whatsoever to do with music, he organized and directed it.
