City workers spent this morning setting up for tonight’s Christmas festivities at Partners Park. Above, Chad Morris, left, and Scott Ferguson set up the platform Mayor J.R. Rausch will stand on tonight when he carries out the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree at 6 p.m. While the tree has been 18 feet tall in years past, this year’s stands at 30 feet tall. People will also be able to attend the Christmas Walk, which will take place 5 to 8 p.m. in the Uptown area. The event will feature live reindeer, a horse-drawn carriage and several Uptown businesses staying open through the evening.
