Memories of Growing Up in Marysville

0

Editor’s note: This is the 47th of a series about growing up in Marysville during the late 1930s and the 1940s written by Bill Boyd. Each article is a snapshot of the people, businesses and activities during that era as seen through the eyes of a young boy.
Boyd was born in Marysville in 1932, graduated from Marysville High School in 1950, and lived the greater part of his life here.

My nose knows
Not long ago, I had a basement window which needed to have its glass replaced, so we took it to Zettler Hardware on East Broad Street in Columbus. When we pulled into the parking lot, it looked like a typical 1970s building, so I assumed the inside would be like a miniature version of the 1970s big box hardware stores. Boy was I wrong!
