Charges are pending for a pair of Marysville High School students in relation to a drug overdose at the school earlier this week.
At 12:01 p.m. Tuesday officers were called to Marysville High School on a report of an unresponsive female. According to Deputy Chief Tony Brooks, the 15-year-old student was found in the nurse’s office.
She was taken to Memorial Hospital and the incident was determined to be drug related. According to Brooks, she does not seem to have any further medical problems.
After being questions by detectives, Marysville Police has decided to charge a second 14-year-old male student with drug trafficking and the female student with drug abuse. According to Brooks, the substance in question was “some kind of a prescription drug.”
He said the investigation and charges indicate, “(the male student) provided the drugs in question.”
Attempts to contact Marysville School officials earlier this week were left unanswered.
