Fire crews contain flames to attic

A Marysville firefighter prepares to descend a ladder after cutting a hold in the roof a house on Chestnut Street Wednesday afternoon. The flames behind the firefighter are spewing from the hole, which Marysville Fire Chief Jay Riley said helps vent smoke and heat from the building. This is done to lessen the amount of smoke in the building when firefighters enter to put out flames.
