Flag Day

The flag at the Union County Courthouse is shown today, which is Flag Day in the United States. A 1916 proclamation by President Woodrow Wilson set aside June 14 to honor the flag and National Flag Day was established when President Harry Truman signed the congress-approved resolution into law in 1949. The flag of the United States was adopted by the Second Continental Congress on June 14, 1777.
