The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a man allegedly seen breaking into unfinished homes in Jerome Village last night into this morning.
At about 11:52 p.m. Thursday deputies received reports of a strange vehicle and man in the area of Cedar Crest Drive and Juniper Way. After a search, authorities arrested Hassan A. Saleh, 31, of Columbus for breaking and entering. Plain City officers apprehended him as he was walking out of the development.
He was taken to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
According to Chief Deputy Tom Morgan, the incident is till being investigated. Deputies found a box truck at the scene that was still running.
“We have from time to time thefts from homes under construction,” Morgan said.
Morgan said he’s unable to say what was in the truck.
“That’s part of the investigation we’re still working on,” he said.
Police officers from the City of Dublin also assisted at the scene.
