Police are investigating a reported abduction involving a 17-year-old female last month.
According to Marysville Deputy Police Chief Tony Brooks, a Redwood Drive resident originally reported a runaway juvenile last month. On Jan. 24 she had allegedly removed her probationary ankle monitor and stole a parent’s television.
Mansfield Police reportedly found her with her boyfriend in a Mansfield park on Feb. 4. She was taken to the Central Ohio Youth Center, and later claimed an unknown male had abducted her.
Brooks said she had no injuries. He also said she was active on social media during her alleged abduction. While she was still responding to people, Brooks said she was ignoring her parents. She had also turned off location tracking on her phone.
According to Brooks, police are still investigating the incident.
