In January, Plain City Village Council will look very different.
According to unofficial results from the Union and Madison County boards of election, Shannon Pine, 332 votes, Darren Lee, 316 votes, Jody Carney, 314 votes, and Sherry Heineman, 309 votes, have been elected to village council.
“I feel honored to be elected to serve our town in this capacity,” Carney wrote in a statement to the Journal-Tribune. “I’m excited to get to work with my fellow council members and provide transparency between the council and the residents of Plain City.”
In a statement after the results were announced, Pine thanked her supporters and said she looks forward to “serving the residents of Plain City in 2018.”
“I will do everything I can to ensure that the best interests of our residents are upheld during these all-important next four years,” Pine wrote.
The only incumbent running, James Moore, finished in sixth place with 223 votes.
Steve Rice tallied 285 votes and Roberta Scott earned 193 votes. Todd Haines and Benjamin Budd rounded out the crowded field with 140 and 110 votes respectively.

Current council members Nick Kennedy, Colleen Davis and Leslie Perkins chose not to seek reelection.
Those elected to Milford Center Village Council include Ron Payne, 109 votes, Derek Wilson, 85 votes, and Donald Jones, 71 votes. There were 356 under votes in Milford Center.
Elected to village council in Richwood include George Showalter, 227 votes, Patrick Morse, 204 votes, Jack Moore, 188 votes, and Von Beal, 180 votes. There were 453 under votes in Richwood.
Earning seats on the village of Unionville Center Village Council include Theresa Weese, 38 votes, Ann Lenhardt, 22 votes, and Mary Morris, 23 votes. There were 86 under votes in Unionville Center.
Magnetic Springs had no candidates file for village council.
