Guns and drugs were seized from a Liberty Township home following a law enforcement raid early this morning.
Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton confirmed members of the Union County Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement (MADE) Task Force executed a search warrant at 7:43 a.m., at 21378 Titus Road, Raymond.
Once inside the home, investigators found three individuals on the first floor and another nine in the basement. Patton said he didn’t know how many of those people lived in the house and how many were just there.
“At this point, guns and drugs have been seized,” Patton said. “We don’t have exact amounts.”
At 9:45 a.m., the sheriff said investigators were still executing the search warrant.
“It is going to take a while to go through the house,” Patton said.
The sheriff did not say exactly what was listed on the search warrant, but said the investigation included heroin, methamphetamines, cocaine, “every type of drug.”
Of the 12 individuals in the home, at least four were arrested.
Paul J. Lester, 42, of 21378 Titus Road in Raymond, has been charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine.
Alyssa M. Carver, 25, of Raymond, was arrested for outstanding warrants from Union County for possession of heroin and failure to appear.
Timothy L.K. Holton, 27, of Delaware, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Franklin County for contempt of court.
Patton said a fourth individual, a woman, was also arrested on an out-of-county warrant. He said the arrest had just happened and he did not have additional details.
The sheriff said through a five-month investigation, MADE officials identified the house as an area of interest. He said the investigation will continue and additional charges are “expected.”
Patton said the case will be presented to a future Union County Grand Jury.
The MADE Task Force is a joint investigative task force comprised of detectives from the Marysville Division of Police and the Union County Sheriff’s Office, along with representatives from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
“The excellent collaboration between all three of these agencies continues to result in a reduction of the flow of illegal drugs into Marysville and Union County,” Marysville Police Chief Floyd Golden said.
The Delaware County Tactical Unit, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Liberty Township Fire Department and the Union County Emergency Management Agency assisted the task force at the scene.
Patton said he hopes the raid will send a message to other alleged drug traffickers.
“Law enforcement in Union County will continue to aggressively pursue drug trafficking offenses and those that choose to engage in such activity,” Patton said. “Hopefully, we will send a message that we will come knocking at your door.”
