COOK

A Raymond man and two area women have been indicted and charged with allegedly raping a child.
Christopher Glenn Cook, 39, of 22520 Hoover Bault Road, Raymond, has been charged with three counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition, two counts of disseminating matter harmful to minors and one count of intimidation. His reported girlfriend, Jacquelyn Tackett, 35, of 460 Windmill Drive, is charged with two counts each of rape and gross sexual imposition. Jessica Marie Jude, 34, of Columbus, is charged with two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition.
According to court documents, during December 2014, Cook contacted the women and convinced them to have sex with an 11-year-old boy. He allegedly took the boy, who he knew, to meet the women.
“It is alleged that he had intercourse with these two women at the behest of Mr. Cook,” said Union County Assistant Prosecutor Melissa Chase.
She said it is unclear how Cook convinced the women to have sex with the boy or how involved he may have been in the activity. Court documents allege the use or threat of force in the rape of the child. Under Ohio Law, a child of that age in incapable of consenting to sexual activity.
Chase said Cook is facing more charges because he allegedly orchestrated and facilitated all of the encounters.
Cook allegedly also showed the child a series of pornographic videos, which the boy was able to describe later to investigators.
Cook then allegedly threatened the child to keep him quiet.
“He allegedly told the boy what would happen to him and a family member if he said anything,” Chase said.
Eventually the child told one of his parents about the alleged incident.
“That was the beginning of the investigation,” Chase said.
The prosecutor said she could not offer any idea about the motivation for any of the three adults involved.
“It is just appalling,” Chase said. “There is no adult on the planet who should think this is a good idea or even O.K. for a child.”
Chase said she has been a prosecutor for almost a decade and a half and has “never seen anything like this.”
“This is so far out of the norm,” she said. “I don’t know that there is anything for parents or for the community to take away from this.”
If convicted on all charges, Cook could face more than 51 years in prison. Jude could face as many as 25 years in prison while Tackett could face as many as 30 years in prison if convicted.
According to court documents, in 2000, Cook was convicted of corruption of a minor.
He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to register as a sexually oriented offender.
In 2011, Cook moved from the Hoover Bault Road address without notifying the sheriff’s office. He was convicted of failure to provide change of address and sentenced to 17 months in prison.
Additionally, Cook has a lengthy history of convictions, including drug and theft related offenses.
According to jail records, Cook is being held in Tri-County Regional Jail. Bond has been set at $10,000.
