The westbound lane of U.S. 33, between US 42 and Scottslawn Road, will close at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, and will reopen Monday morning.
During the two-day closure, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will replace a portion of a steel beam that supports the Beecher-Gamble Road bridge over U.S. 33.
This repair is needed because in late August a dump truck, with its bed raised, struck the bridge.
To complete the work at U.S. 33 westbound will close from 7 p.m., Saturday, until 5 a.m. Monday.
Westbound US 33 drivers should allow extra travel time Saturday night and Sunday.
ODOT officials have said drivers should detour the closure by using U.S. 33 west to U.S. 42 west to Industrial Parkway north to Scottslawn Road east then back onto U.S. 33 west.
The Union County Engineer’s office website, www.co.union.oh.us/engineer, will have information on the project and the closure. For up-to-date ODOT traffic information, construction information and road conditions, 24-hours a day, drivers can visit www.Ohgo.com.
