Daniel Brian “Dan” Hughes, 48, of Steubenville, formerly of Marysville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his home.
He was an information technology analyst for Reimbursement Concepts in Weirton, West Virginia. He was a 1986 graduate of Marysville High School and attended DeVry University to study computer technology.
Known by his closest friends as “Big Dano,” he was a NASCAR, Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His utmost pride and joy was his son, Layne.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1968, in Columbus, to the late Jack Hughes and Joyce Erwin of Marysville, and she survives. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Erwin, and sister, Deborah Hart Wilds.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Layne Daniel Hughes; sisters, Carman Hart Williams of Marysville and Sandra Hart Markin of Columbus; brothers, Charles (Robyn) Hughes of Mt. Victory, Patrick (Cynthnie) Hughes of Leesburg, Georgia, and Ryan Hughes of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville, where the family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
