Donald B. Worstell, 79, of Marysville, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.
He worked at Vincent Graphics in Dublin for 26 years, was a printer at Scott’s Miracle-Gro for seven years and drove trucks for the Treaty Company, Leeway Transportation and Schlairet Transfer. He also served in the Ohio National Guard from 1955 to 1963 and was a former member of the Marysville First Congregation Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking, doing lawn work and watching football.
He was born on May 18, 1938, in Marysville, to the late Charles R. and Lucrettia (Woodworth) Worstell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of nearly 40 years, Betty Jean (Bolenbaugh), whom he married on Feb. 10, 1968, and who died in 2007; sisters, Barbara Clingerman and Marilyn Beightler; and brothers, Max and Richard “Dick” Worstell.
He is survived by his children, Sandy (Jeff) Garey of Marysville, Don (Kelly) Worstell of Prospect and Rusty (Michelle) Worstell of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kellie) Worstell, Mallory Worstell, William (Caileen) Lane, Lindsay (Jeremy) Cox, Amanda (Rob) Lucas, Tyler Worstell, Michael (Christy) Garey and Melissa (Dale) Banfield; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert E. “Gene” (Francis) Worstell of Marysville and James E. (Patricia) Worstell of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Roy Burton will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Burial will take place next to his wife in Oakdale Cemetery, where military rites will be observed by the Union County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
