Henry A. Bushong, 81, of West Mansfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a proud technical sergeant for the United States Air Force, where he retired out of the Rickenbacker Air Force base in 1974. Prior to retirement, he worked out of the Pentagon, where he specialized in classified documentation.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1936, to the late Don and Edna Horsley Bushong. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Almeta Jarrells Bushong, whom he married on July 2, 1956, in Columbia, South Carolina.
He is survived by his children, Patricia (Ralph) Fisher of Mount Victory, Charlene (Orville “Buddy”) Hutchison of West Mansfield and Timothy (Heike) Bushong of Germany; grandchildren, Matthew, Miriam, Tobias, Michael, Billy, Sara, Eddie, Anna, Audrey, Ralphie, Sylena, Amber, Destiny, Chelsey and Josh; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Gun) Bushong Jr. and Ernie Bushong; sisters-in-law, Stella Dalton and Edith Alley; brothers-in-law, Matthew Jarrells, Steve Jarrells and Danny (Glenna) Jarrells; and many other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
A “graduation ceremony” memorializing his life will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 28 at Only Believe Ministries Church, 809 S. Detroit St., Kenton. Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville is assisting the family.
