Jerry L. Lookabaugh, 71, of Marysville, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He retired after working for the Ohio Department of Transportation in Delaware for 29 years. He served as a U.S. Marine at Camp Geiger in North Carolina and in Okinawa, Japan. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising springer spaniels and watching western movies, especially ones starring John Wayne.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1945, in Ashley, to the late Earl L. and Enice Bill Lookabaugh.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Annette Martindale; children, Tom (Mellisa) Lookabaugh of Marysville, Richard (Betty) Lookabaugh of West Liberty, Jarold Lookabaugh of Caledonia and Carol (Greg) Pitts of Calgary, Canada; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Edie) Lookabaugh of Zanesville, Terry (Janet) Lookabaugh of Rushsylvania and Connie (Mark) Lusk and Laura (George) Edington, both of Byhalia; mother and father-in-law, Milton and Lynn Martindale of Marysville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrin (Janie) Martindale and Marcus (Leslie) Martindale, both of Marysville, Jared (Tina) Martindale of Delaware and Lowell (Lynn) Martindale of Lancaster; very special children, Gus and Katie Jerew, and their son, Will, and Harley Jerew and her partner, Chad Hemminger, all of whom call him “grandpa” and Annette “grandma”; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The Rev. Chad Davis will officiate a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Funeral Home.
