Karen Elizabeth Robson, 64, of Bellefontaine, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at her home.
She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Riverside High School in 1971 and attended The Ohio State University. She worked for the Bellefontaine Examiner and was a communication liaison for Bellefontaine City Schools. With a passion for music and theatre, she was a lifelong member of the Philharmonic Music Club. She had a dedication to her country and community, and was recently serving as the president of the Top of Ohio Patriots.
Her faith in God was the most important to her. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of East Liberty Church of Christ for many years. She served God by playing the piano for services, taught Sunday school, led bible studies and much more. She also enjoyed nature and the outdoors. She always enjoyed taking care of her flowers, feeding the birds and taking family fishing trips to Canada. Most of all, she loved sharing all of this with her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was born on April 15, 1953, in Bellefontaine, to the late Fredrick E. Houchin and Connie E. (Miller) Houchin, who survives in Bellefontaine.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Jason Robson, whom she married on Dec. 6, 1986; sons, John (Hannah) Roush of Pleasant Hill, Dr. Jason A. Robson of Bellefontaine, Jonathon (Sarah) Robson of Hilliard and Jeffrey (Teresa) Robson of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Brennan and Morgan Robson and Matthew, Rachel and Rebecca Roush; brother, Steven (Barbara) Houchin of West Chester; aunts, Marilyn Knief of Bellefontaine and Virginia Brumley of Richmond, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Liberty Church of Christ. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, which is handling arrangements. Burial will be at East Liberty Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Liberty Church of Christ, 9504 Foundry St., East Liberty, OH 43319, or Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
