MOELLER
Michael William Moeller, 64, of Plain City, died Friday morning, Oct. 20, 2017, at home with his wife and sons by his side.
He was the founder of the Ohio Tax Center, president of Moeller Financial Group, and former city council member and mayor of Plain City, from 1984 to 1988. He was instrumental in bringing Der Dutchman to Plain City, the Blue Ribbon Panel, the Corn Carnival and other events. He was a proud American.
He had a Bachelor’s degree in business from Franklin University and a Master’s degree in business from Central Michigan University. He also received certification to be a financial planner from the College for Financial Planning, chartered financial consultant from the American College of Financial Services and certified fund specialist and tax specialist from the Institute of Business and Finance.
He was a member of Tartan Fields Country Club and a member St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church in Dublin. His children and grandchildren were his passion and he would enjoy his favorite cigar on Clearwater Beach, Florida.
He was born the oldest among five children on Feb. 2, 1953, in Columbus, to Agnes J. (Bigelow) Moeller and the late William Robert Moeller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Jean (Cahill) Moeller, whom he married on Aug. 17, 1974; children, Michael C. (Mimi Foster) Moeller, Caroline J. (Michael) Williamson and Matthew W. (Jennifer Dredge) Moeller; grandchildren, William C. Moeller, Samuel J. Moeller, Abigail L. Moeller and Agnes Pearl Williamson; siblings, Kathleen (Marty) Griffin, Patrick (Amy) Moeller, Larureen Repik and Maryann (Ike) Eversole; and sister-in-law, Linda Cahill (Douglas) Scheiderer.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., (Route 161 W.), Plain City. The Rev. Matthew Morris and Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks will officiate a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin. A reception will follow the service at the church, then a procession and burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, in Plain City.
