Michaelanne L. Conrad, 86, of Marysville, died early Monday morning, July 17, 2017, at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg.
She was retired as a registered nurse from Memorial Hospital and Union Manor Care. She graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Honolulu, where she also began her professional career. She moved to Marysville with her husband and children in 1973.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was known for her “green thumb” and loved to share her home-grown vegetables, as well as preserves and jams, with family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, but she was best known for her cooking, especially with Chinese and Hawaiian flavors, fruits and vegetables of her youth.
She was born on April 22, 1931, in Kula, on the island of Maui, Hawaii, to the late Joe Sing and Tan Kyau Lee Hee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Conrad, whom she married on on Feb. 11, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and who died Dec. 3, 1999; and five siblings, Albert, Harold, Tim, George and Alice Hee.
She is survived by her children, William Michael (Suzanne) Conrad of Findlay and Kerry-Jo (David) Jenkins of Fredericksburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Abigail, Solomon and Ruth-Anne Jenkins, David-Michael (Alessandra) Jenkins II and Jack and Nora Michaelanne Conrad; and sister-in-law, Doris Ann Conrad of Marysville.
The Rev. Kevin Kavanagh will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
