Robert C. Rockey, 88, of Marysville, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family, after a brief diagnosis and battle with colon cancer.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from the International Business College and worked as a computer programmer at Rea Magnet Wire for 30 years. He lived a life of working hard, loving people and faithfully serving God and his family. He enjoyed riding bicycles, swimming, basketball, golf, pingpong, fishing and spending winters at Oakwood Estates in Winter Haven, Florida, with his many beloved friends. His desire was for people to consider their relationship with God.
He is survived by his wife, Joan I. (Logan) Rockey; children, Denise (James) Baldwin of Plain City, Colleen (Mark) Craig of Plainfield, Indiana and David Rockey of Santa Barbara, California; grandchildren, Dane and Brooke Baldwin of Plain City, Crystal (Stan) Moran of Plain City, Chase (Lindsey) Baldwin of North Lewisburg and Matt and Kristen Craig of Davenport, Florida; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned at Bushnell National Cemetery, in Florida, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be expressed to Loving Care Hospice, 779 London Ave., Marysvile, OH 43040, or to a charity of one’s choice.
