Ruth F. Gansheimer, 93, of Marysville, died peacefully Tuesday evening, Jan. 16, 2018, at Brookdale of Marysville.
In her earlier years, she worked for Borden Dairy and Central Ohio Co-Operative Milk Producers. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and had fun gambling occasionally at casinos. Bowling was her biggest pastime, and she traveled extensively through the state and the country competing in tournaments.
An avid reader, she was also a member of the Community and Seasoned Citizens in Marysville. Above all things, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as her family was her greatest treasure. She also appreciated her many dogs and cats she had over the years.
She was born April 16, 1924, in Ross County, to the late Frank F. and Ethel M. Kerns Pfarr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul D. Gansheimer, whom she married June 9, 1962, in Dublin, and who died Sept. 28, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Debra Kelly, Vicki (Bill) McKinnon and Tim (Janet) Gansheimer, all of Marysville; grandchildren, Aaron McKinnon, Adam (Melinda) McKinnon, Amy (Charlie) Presti, Charity (Rob) Wilcox, Jarod (Abby) Gansheimer, Steven (Sara) Smith and Jonothan Smith; and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home. Ed Beeson will officiate funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union County Humane Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.ingramfuneralservice.com.
