One village helping another

Through a recent agreement, the village of Mechanicsburg will provide dedicated police services to the village of North Lewisburg. The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office had provided deputies dedicated to patrolling the village, but when the existing contract expired in January, North Lewisburg was left without dedicated law enforcement coverage. Pictured during Tuesday night’s announcement are, from left to right, in the front row, North Lewisburg Mayor Mayor Cheryl Hollingsworth and Mechanicsburg Mayor Greg Kimball, and in the back row, Mechanicsburg Police Captain Scott Bodey, North Lewisburg Administrator Andy Yoder, Mechanicsburg Village Administrator April Huggins Davis and Mechanicsburg Police Chief John Alexander.
