Jordan Simonelli threw a pair of touchdown passes and Andy Martin scored twice during Triad’s 55-25 loss to Indian Lake on Friday.
Martin scored the Cardinals’ first touchdown on a 65-yard kickoff return.
Simonelli booted the extra point.
Cam Atchison caught a 15-yard TD pass from Simonelli, but the conversion failed.
Martin was on the receiving end of Simonelli’s 18-yard touchdown pass.
Dylan Rice added the Cardinals’ final score on a 43-yard run.
Simonelli led Triad in total offense as he completed 20-of-32 passes for 227 yards. He also led in rushing with 77 yards on 11 carries.
Rice carried the ball nine times for 66 yards, while Atchison caught 10 passes for 115 yards.
The Cardinals finished with 374 yards of total offense.
“A couple of turnovers put us in some tough spots,” said Triad coach Joe Cardinal. “Our offense played pretty well, but we need to get better finishing drives.
“Overall, though, I was pleased with our effort.”
The Cardinals will host North Union on Friday.
