The Marysville Elite 17U baseball team split a twinbill against Bryan over the weekend.
The Monarchs won the opening game, 1-0, and fell in the nightcap by a 7-4 verdict.
Drew Eaches drove in the lone run of the first contest. That score came in the visitors’ portion of the fourth inning.
Marysville outhit its opponent, 4-3, and neither team committed an error.
Tyler Drope, Jacob Wright, Gavin Sharp and Garrett North each had hits for the Monarchs.
Eaches went the distance on the mound during the seven-inning contest. He struck out one and walked two.

Bryan tallied six runs in the bottom of the second and added one in the fifth to notch the victory in the second game.
Both teams finished the contest with seven hits. The Monarchs had two errors and the home team finished with one.
Tate Virts had two hits for Marysville. Additional hits came from Kaleb Schultz, Wright, Sharp, North and Drope.
Sharp started on the bump and went two innings. He was tagged with six runs, four of which were earned.
North finished the game for the Monarchs.
