A local high school girls golf team advanced in the post-season, while the 2017 campaign came to a close for another.
The Fairbanks Lady Panthers captured the Division II sectional tournament title at Mill Creek on Wednesday.
Natalie Parker shot a 79 to help lead FHS to a 347 team score.
Emily Wilson carded an 80, Audrey Brackenridge shot an 82, Rachel Studenmund finished with a 106 and Allison Kise shot a 109.
The top three teams from the sectional will advance to the district tournament.
Worthington Christian shot a 399 to finish second and Lakewood was third with a 406.
There were 14 teams in the tournament.
Triad’s girls golf team concluded its season during the sectional tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Course.
The Lady Cardinals finished seventh out of 15 teams. They shot a 460.
Kayleigh Boldman led Triad with a 104, followed by Lexi Moore-117, Anna Nott-117, Olivia Butz-122 and Shelby Sheets 124.
