GANGLUFF
––––
The Marysville graduate and professional golfer Stephen Gangluff was able to make the cut of the Lincoln Land Charity Championship at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois but could do no better than tied for 52nd place after four days of play.
During the third round of the Web.com Tour stop Gangluff had an up-and-down day on the front nine. The 441-yard par four at hole three gave Gangluff some trouble as he had to settle for a bogey to put him at 1-over, but he answered on the next hole, a 420-yard par four, with a birdie to bring him back to even.
Deja-vu struck at holes eight and nine when Gangluff got behind on hole eight with a bogey, but the pro golfer was determined to at least go into the back nine on even footing when he birdied the ninth hole.
Gangluff was able to finish up his third round with a 2-under 69 when he birdied the 11th and 16th holes.
Round four of the Lincoln Land Charity Championship was tough going for the Marysville Alum when he could do no better than a 1-over 72 to bring his four-day score to 6-under.
The front nine was a struggle for Gangluff as he had to take an extra stroke at the third hole and the fifth hole to put him at 2-over. Gangluff was able to recover on the back nine when he made up those two extra strokes at the par three 14th hole and the par five 16th hole, but on the18th hole Gangluff put himself at 1-over when he bogied the hole.
The Web.com Tour will be headed to Nashville, Tennessee for the Nashville Golf Open for the next stop.
