Triad senior Hadley LeVan broke the school’s boys scoring record by tossing in his 1,475th career point during the Cardinals’ 65-44 triumph over Madison Plains on Tuesday.
LeVan broke Josh Hollar’s (1995-99) previous standard of 1,473 by cashing in on shots from the foul line with 1:30 left in the game.
He scored 25 points as Triad improved to 15-6.
The Cardinals went on top, 21-15, by the end of the opening set and maintained a 32-27 margin at halftime.
The Golden Eagles managed just five points during the third period.
As a result, Triad stretched its lead to 44-32 by the start of the fourth quarter.
Briley Harlan also scored in double figures for the Cardinals as he put in 17.

Pioneers win
Jonathan Alder’s boys basketball team took an early 14-4 lead and went on to beat London, 48-37.
Jackie Santa-Emma knocked down four three-pointers and tallied a game-high 16 points as the Pioneers upped their record to 17-4.
Alder’s lead stood at 26-18 at halftime and 38-26 by the end of the third stanza.
Jacob Koenig joined Santa-Emma in double figures with 11 points.
