The Marysville High School cross-country teams competed in the Galion Festival on Saturday.
The Lady Monarchs placed sixth out of 26 Division I teams, while the boys were 19th in their 37-team competition.
Jacquelyn Witt of MHS was sixth with a time of 19:06. She was followed in the scoring by Morgan Forney, 20.39: Katie Krueger, 20:42; Leanne Eichorn, 21:08; and Emma Rice, 21:30.
Scoring for the boys were Andrew Snodgrass, 17:31; Ian Dye, 17:27; Hayden Turk, 17:31; Matthew Cox, 17:54; and Brendan Ralston, 18:17.
“Overall, both teams showed a tremendous amount of courage, racing in very hot conditions,” said Monarch coach Luke Sundermeier. “Several athletes ran personal bests after a week of heavy training.”
Cardinals compete
Triad’s runners competed in the Graham Invitational.
Eli O’Brien placed 23rd in the boys race with a time of 19:45.9. He was followed by Zane Robison, 72nd, 23:35.3; and Jacob Warner, 90th, 27:19.3.
There were 94 runners in the race.
Holly Cole was the runner-up in the girls meet with a time of 21:48.0.
Alea Ferguson was ninth out of 52 runners in 23:20.7.
Joe Ferguson was 23th in the middle school boys meet in 13:34.7.
Raya Helton was 80th in the middle school girls race with a time of 22:52.6.
Bunsold teams
place third
Marysville’s middle school boys and girls teams each placed third in the Central Ohio Invitational. There were 18 boys and 17 girls squads in the competition.
