Marysville High School’s boys varsity soccer team opened the 2017 season on Friday with a 1-0 victory at New Albany.
The Monarchs put the only score on the board with a header by Matt Walters. The assist came on a pass from Zach Rausch.
MHS keeper Mason Taylor finished with eight saves to complete the shutout.
New Albany keeper Parker Selby tallied six saves.
The Monarchs (1-0-0) will host Bellefontaine this afternoon.
