Marysville’s varsity volleyball team played a gritty match against Upper Arlington, but fell 18-25, 13-25, 23-25 on Thursday.
Madi Bentz controlled the serve receive and had 23 digs.
Carissa Baker led the Monarchs with seven kills, while Jazmine Williams tallied three.
Sara Berkland led with 10 assists and Kaylee Rivers served 17 points.
MHS will host Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday for its Volley 4 the Cure match.
Alder wins twice
Jonathan Alder’s varsity spikers defeated Kenton Ridge and Graham in three sets during this week’s action.
Corinne Parker and Kortney Reynolds combined for 19 kills against Kenton Ridge.
Sara Dickey covered the floor with 13 digs and Abby Jester dished 11 assists.
Hunter Larrison had five aces and six kills against Graham. Durbin tallied 24 assists.
Bunsold goes unbeaten
Marysville’s middle school Red team went undefeated this week, winning all three of its matches.
Bunsold beat Grant Middle School in a tie-breaker game that went to 25-16.
As a team, the Lady Monarchs tallied 13 aces, six kills and nine digs.
