Marysville’s boys varsity basketball team won its third consecutive game on Saturday with a 63-58 triumph over Dublin Scioto.
The Irish jumped out to a 20-15 lead after the first quarter of the Ohio Capital Conference non-divisional contest.
The Monarchs (3-1), however, fought back for a 34-30 advantage at the halftime break.
MHS maintained its pace to take a 51-45 lead into the final quarter of action.
Bodie Eberhart led Marysville, which will play at Central Crossing on Friday, with 25 points.
He was joined in double figures by Jarrett Karnes with 16 and Jack Christian with 11.
MHS girls win
Marysville’s girls also raised their record to 3-1 on Saturday with a 36-20 road victory at Grove City.
A 16-point second quarter was the difference in the game for the Lady Monarchs, who will travel to DeSales on Tuesday.
MHS took a slight 8-6 edge into the period, but pulled away to a 24-11 margin at halftime.
Grove City managed only three points during the third quarter and trailed, 31-14, by the start of the final stanza.
Sarah O’Neil led the Lady Monarchs with 18 points, while Cassie Francisco added 10.
Katherine Hazelbaker, Kinzi Lee, Sydney Lee and Haley Cook each tallied two points.
Triad boys triumph
The Cardinals (3-2) got back on the winning track with a 57-45 victory over Fairlawn.
Triad, which will travel to Fairbanks on Tuesday, held a 27-22 halftime lead.
Fairlawn closed to within 35-34 by the end of the third period.
Briley Harlan tallied eight of his 13 points during the final quarter to help the Cardinals to victory.
Hadley LeVan and Cam Atchison also tallied 13 points in Triad’s balanced attack.
