The North Union boys cross-country team did it again.
For the second consecutive year, the Wildcats took top honors at the Triad Invitational with a team score of 39. Fairbanks claimed fourth place with a team score of 122.
Adam Brown was the Wildcats’ top runner coming in third place with a time of 17:34. The North Union duo of Gabe Burggraf and Dalton Skaggs finished the 3.1-mile course in times of 18:10 and 18:21 to garner sixth and seventh places.
The three runners earned medals for their efforts. Brennan Griffith and Joel Krebehenne helped the Wildcats to their team victory with 11th and 12th places finishes in times of 18:34 and 18:39.
Aidan Grove led the pack for the Panthers with a time of 18:52 to take 14th place. Jojo Renicker finished the course with a time of 19:11 for 18th place. Chris Long and Kyle Craig finished with respective times of 20:08 and 20:18 to grab 27th and 28th places.
Triad, which hosted the meet, was unable to post a team score due to its lack of runners.
Eli O’Brien posted the fastest individual time for the Cardinals with a clocking of 19:11 for 17th place. Zane Robison finished in 66th place with a time of 22:59.
The Lady Cats also found success at the meet, taking home the runner-up trophy with a team score of 50. Fairbanks was able to finish with enough points (73) for third place.
Kamryn Rhodes of North Union bested the field of 67 runners with a first-place time of 21:01. Libby Ardrey earned a medal with a seventh-place finish in a time of 22:37. Ashlee Kohler finished the course in a time of 23:42 to take 12th place. Grayson Plotner claimed 23rd with a time of 25:26. Kylie Stokes finished out the team of five runners with a 25th place finish with a time of 25:43.
Adeline Fitzwater broke into the top five for Fairbanks with a fifth-place time of 22:09. Kalor Greve finished the course in a time of 23:32 to take 10th place. Lindsey Eddy finished in 23:49, which was good enough for 14th place.
Gracie Hubbs toured the course in a time of 27:37 for 37th place and Kai Van Dyke finished in 41st place in a time of 28:26.
Triad was unable to post a girls team score due to lack of runners.
Holly Cole finished the course in a time of 21:32 for second place, while Alea Ferguson claimed 17th place with an effort of 24:26.
