The Lady Panther volleyball team put another notch in the net Thursday with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-10 triumph over Madison Plains.
With the victory, Fairbanks went to 16-0 overall and 10-0 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
FHS countered the Eagles’ strong hitting with a powerful and balanced attack, featuring five different hitters with at least five kills.
Stats for the match were as follows:
-Abbey Hubbs: 27/27 serving, 24 points, five aces, 13/13 attacks, five kills;
-Kelsey Thorbahn: 9/9 serving, five points, 20/22 passing, 19/23 attacks, five kills;
-Megan King: 11/12 attacks, seven kills;
-Hunter Johnson: 16/19 passing;
-Kas. Carstensen: 13/13 attacks, eight kills, three blocks;
-Kai. Carstensen: 23/23 setting, 11 assists, 9/9 attacks, six kills, five blocks;
-Jenay Kocsis: 8/8 serving, four points, 26/26 setting, 10 points.
-Gracie Tomblin: 7/7 serving, five points, 12/12 passing.
Lady Monarchs fall
Marysville put up a strong battle against Olentangy, a top 10-ranked team in the Central District.
MHS fell 19-25, 14-25, 19-25.
“The scores do not indicate the battle that the Monarchs provided during long, hard-hitting battles across the net,” said coach Bethany Bentz.
Lily Keber led the Monarchs with eight kills, followed by Carissa Baker with six.
Sara Berkland finished with 17 assists.
NU drops match
North Union fell in three sets to Ontario by scores of 20-25, 18-25, 13-25.
Journey Blevins tallied 13 kills for NU, while Darian Thompson led with eight digs.
