The Marysville Stingrays took another victory this weekend, which makes their record 3-0 for the COSA league. The Stingrays hosted the Worthington Wave this past Saturday. The scores were as follows:
Girls:Marysville-2,334 points; Worthington-462 points.
Boys: Marysville-1,702 points; Worthington-612 points.
The Stingrays amassed 35 first-place finishes, 32 runner-up spots and 25 third-place finishes in the 44 individual events. They finished relay events with 15 first’s, 10 second’s and four third-place finishes.
The top swimmers for the meet were Jorja Ary (8 year-old), Patrick Filbert (8), Molly Gregory (12), Dorin Lawless (13) and Lily Arledge (16). They each won in all of their individual events.
“The coaches and I were so proud of the meet today,” said coach Kristin Williams. “Not only are we excited about another victory, but the continuing growth in each swimmer.
“We owe a lot to the families of the team. Our families are so great, always volunteering to help out and making the meets run smoothly.”
“The support that they give every swimmer is outstanding. It truly encourages the kids to continue to grow and be more confident in their swimming abilities.”
The Stingrays have a bye week this week for the NEW league. However, they will compete again next Saturday for the COSA league at the Northwest Swim Club.
