The Triad Lady Cardinals volleyball team struggled to get past Ohio Heritage Conference rival West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers won in three sets 25-18, 25-18, 30-28.
Bri Eaton collected four kills for the Lady Cardinals and Tori Thomas cleaned up on the floor with 16 digs. The Lady Cardinals will return to the court today to take on the Urbana Hill climbers.
FHS spikers win
Fairbanks’ volleyball team ran its record to 3-0 with a 25-13, 25-11, 22-25, 25-12 victory at West Jefferson.

Junior NU runner takes top spot
The North Union Junior Wildcats cross country team headed out on the road to compete in its first meet of the season against Northmor on Monday. The Wildcats found success in the form of Aaron Krebehenne when he crossed the finish line ahead of everyone in a time of 11:52. Casey Clark came in with a time of 12:38, which gave him the ninth spot.
Ashley Hayward was the Lady Cats’ top finisher with an 11th place finish in a time of 14:56. The junior Wildcats will face Buckeye Valley in their next meet on Saturday.
