A hole-in-one is something that can elude the best professional golfer during his or her entire career.
It’s one of those feats in sports that sparks a memory that lasts a lifetime.
Fairbanks High School golfer Emily Wilson made such a memory on Thursday while competing at the Cherokee Hills Golf Course in Logan County.
Wilson aced the par 4, 227-yard 18th hole during the Benjamin Logan Invitational.
She helped the Lady Panthers not only win the tournament, but also set a girls golf course record low team score of 342.
Wilson shot a 78, which matched the score of teammate Audrey Brackenridge.
Natalie Parker carded an 83, Rachel Studenmund finished with a 103, Jordyn Orodi tallied a 117 and Allison Kise rounded out the team with a 123.
Panthers place fourth
The Fairbanks Panthers boys golf team claimed fourth place with a score of 323 during the Killer ‘B’ Tournament at Darby Creek Golf Course on Thursday.
Aidan Wilson led the Panthers with a 77. Travis Brake scored a 79. Justin Brackenridge tallied an 80, Seth Payne turned in an 87. Logan Bocsy finished with a 96 and Cross Hackathorne rounded out the team with a 98.
