Triad’s football team outgained Greenon in total yardage, 416-402, but came up short on the scoreboard, 42-35, on Friday.
Greenon took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter, only to see the Cardinals (0-4) put 26 points on the board during the ensuing stanza.
Triad (which will host Cedarville on Friday) held a 26-21 margin at halftime.
The Cardinals expanded their upper hand to 28-21 with a third-quarter safety.
Greenon, however, outscored Triad, 21-7, during the fourth period to secure the win.
Cardinal quarterback Jordan Simonelli completed 14-of-36 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns.
Andy Martin caught a touchdown pass and Isaiah Bruce returned an interception for a score.
