Area girls hoopsters drop contests

The 2023-24 basketball season got off to a difficult start for several local girls teams.

The Lady Pioneers of Jonathan Alder dropped a 49-38 decision to Mechanicsburg, Triad lost to Marion Elgin 75-58 and Fairbanks fell at Dublin Jerome 46-14.
