There was some good news for Fairbanks during its Region 23, Division VI football playoff game on Friday at Waterford.

Brandon Wiedmann returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and Ryker Green had a long kickoff return that set up a third TD.

Above is what remains of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado that caught fire as a result of a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 33 Wednesday morning. The driver of the Chevrolet, Dejuan R. Meek, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, but was not issued charges since he was quickly transported to a Columbus-area hospital with significant injuries.
