In his first year as the head football coach at Fairbanks, Dave Carroll led the Panthers to a 7-4 season mark and their first playoff appearance since 2021.

One killed in Route 31 crash

Vehicles involved in an early morning crash that left one driver dead sit at the edges of Route 31 near Miller Road Saturday. The driver of the 2009 Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene after a 2023 Jeep Renegade crossed the centerline and hit the vehicle head-on, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
