Local artist’s work part of Ohio State Fair
Artist James Mellick of Milford Center has two dog carvings accepted in the fine arts exhibition of the 2025 Ohio State Fair. “Ghost Dog in Cherry” and “Beagle Boy Blue” are part of the 300-plus accepted artworks chosen from 1,300 entries. “Ghost Dog in Cherry” was awarded third Best of Show in the Professional Division. In 2024, Mellick’s “Hillary the Dog” entry won People’s Choice, which is awarded at the end of the exhibit, and this year he is hoping that “Beagle Boy Blue” will do the same.
