Nice spread
A monarch butterfly spreads its wings on a flower near the intersection of Sixth and Main streets earlier this week. Monarch butterflies, with their orange wings with black veins and white spots, play an important ecological role as pollinators. Each year, millions travel thousands of miles from Canada and the northern United States to overwintering sites in central Mexico. They rely heavily on milkweed plants, which serve as the sole food source for their larvae.
