Murder suspect held on $225K bond

By From JT Staff Reports

A Marysville man was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault stemming from an incident that occurred over the Labor Day weekend.

Morris Moales Jr., 57, was arrested at 323 S. Walnut St. Sunday following a report at the residence.

At approximately 7:13 p.m., according to the Marysville Division of Police, officers went to the 300 block of South Walnut Street on a report of an “assault with an edged weapon.”

“When officers arrived they found the victim had suffered lacerations. When officers made contact with the suspect…he stated he attacked the victim,” according to a release from the MPD.

Morales was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, a felony of the first degree, and felonious assault, a felony of the second degree. The 45-year-old male victim was treated and released by paramedics from the Marysville Fire Division, after refusing to be transported to a local hospital. The case remains under investigation by the Marysville Police Division.

Moales was arraigned Tuesday in Marysville Municipal Court and is being held on a $250,000 bond with no 10% allowed. He is currently incarcerated at the Tri-County Regional Jail in Mechanicsburg.
